What is The Thrive Programme?
Welcome to Thrive with Shirley

Hello and welcome to my website. I have been working as a Thrive Consultant since the inception of the Thrive Programme and have taken hundreds of people through this exciting journey of learning how to take back control of their sense of wellbeing and resilience.


I have worked with anxiety, low self esteem, emetophobia, eating disorders, low mood and anything that prevents some from fully engaging with and living their live.


I work with adults, teenagers and children.

Much of my studying and training before Thrive focussed on the theory that significant emotional events in our past defined who we are today. I was never comfortable taking clients back through those significant (and not so significant) past events. For some people, going through traumatic and challenging situations once is enough, let alone talking about the same “stuff”over and over again. When Rob introduced the concept of Thrive, which focusses on how our thinking in the moment determines the quality of our lives, it immediately resonated with me. I very happily dropped any form of delving into past events and focussed on what is happening with our thinking styles and belief systems in the moment.

Our thinking creates our experience of life. This is something I put into practice in my daily life. I have learnt how to build belief systems that allow me to live life in the knowing that I am prepared and equipped to deal with whatever unfolds in my life. I don’t need life to be happening in a certain way to be okay and I know I can make the most of any situation. We can’t dictate what life may have in store for us, but we can certainly dictate how we deal with it… from powerless through to powerful thinking.
